On December 18, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading and in full the Law of Ukraine "On Academic Integrity" (No. 10392), which establishes unified legal foundations for conducting academic activities in education and science in accordance with European standards.
The law defines the core values of academic integrity – honesty, trust, respect, fairness, responsibility, resilience, and determination, establishes mandatory principles and rules for all participants in the educational process and scientific workers, as well as mechanisms for their enforcement.
The document outlines types of academic integrity violations, response procedures, and liabilities – ranging from disciplinary measures to revocation of academic degrees or titles, and is aimed at improving the quality of education and science and strengthening public trust in their outcomes.
