The Academy's leadership visited the H. Ye. Pukhov Institute of Modeling Problems in Energy of the NAS of Ukraine.

18.12.2025

On December 18, 2025, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Anatoliy Zahorodniy, the first vice-president of the NAS of Ukraine, head of the Section of Physical-Technical and Mathematical Sciences, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Vyacheslav Bohdanov, the academic secretary of the Department of Energy and Energy Technologies of the NAS of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Andriy Rusanov, as well as representatives of the Presidium apparatus and the Department, made a working visit to the G. Ye. Pukhov Institute for Modeling in Energy of the NAS of Ukraine.

During the working visit, the leadership of the Academy familiarized themselves with the scientific developments of the Institute, its experimental base, and applied solutions in the fields of energy, modeling, and cybersecurity. Special attention was paid to results that are already being implemented or have potential for practical application, as well as to issues of the institution's further development.

The Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Mokhor, presented the key scientific achievements of the institution in recent years and outlined the prospects for further research. The results obtained within the framework of international scientific projects were reported by the Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Doctor of Technical Sciences Oleksandr Chemeris.

Leading Researcher, Head of the Technical Diagnostics Group, Doctor of Technical Sciences Oleksandr Volodymyrskyi presented developments in the field of diagnostics of engineering systems, in particular modern leak detectors for detecting damage to underground heat and water supply pipelines, the acoustic hardware-software complex "RASTR-2V" for detecting leaks and corrosion defects, as well as the elevator motion parameter meter IKPL-M3 and other automated measuring complexes for the energy sector.

Special attention during the visit was paid to the work of the Institute's youth laboratory, where young scientists and graduate students actively work. The current research projects were presented by the head of the laboratory Ihor Holomolzin.

Chief Researcher, Doctor of Technical Sciences Viktor Samoylov introduced developments in creating virtual simulators for training operators of energy installations. The operation of one of these simulators was demonstrated by Senior Researcher, Candidate of Technical Sciences Ihor Pletiany.

Head of the Department of Modeling of Energy Processes and Systems, Doctor of Technical Sciences Stepan Vynnychuk presented research on the development of mathematical and computer models of processes in air conditioning systems and fuel circuits of aircraft. These works are aimed at assessing design solutions at the design stage and are carried out, in particular, in cooperation with the enterprise JSC "Antonov".

Leading Researcher of the Department of Mathematical and Econometric Modeling, Doctor of Technical Sciences Volodymyr Yevdokimov presented research on the creation of modeling and information-technological tools for analyzing and improving the reliability of energy systems operation. Special attention was paid to issues of decentralization and digitalization of energy, improving the management of energy processes, and increasing the efficiency of the Ukrainian energy system. The presented developments are of an applied nature and contribute to the implementation of the Institute's scientific results into the practice of the energy sector.

The results of the Institute's activities in the field of cybersecurity and digital resilience were reported by Leading Researcher of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Modeling, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vitaliy Zubok. In particular, methodological recommendations approved by the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine, which are implemented within the framework of the National Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine, were discussed.

Doctor of Technical Sciences Lyudmyla Kovalchuk presented research on control and monitoring of the quality of generation of key data for modern cryptographic algorithms, as well as an automated workstation for assessing the quality of random and pseudorandom sequence generators, which was tested in the relevant units of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine.

During the visit, the President of the NAS of Ukraine, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Anatoliy Zahorodniy, presented PhD diplomas to the Institute's postgraduate graduates who successfully defended their dissertations at the end of 2025.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Academy's leadership noted the significant scientific potential of the G. Ye. Pukhov Institute for Modeling in Energy of the NAS of Ukraine and wished its team further fruitful work.
