Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine are active participants in international programs carried out with the support of such foreign and international funds and organizations as the European Commission, UNTC, NATO, UNESCO, DFG, CRDF, etc. Annually, about 300 research, coordination, and projects supporting scientific exchange are implemented under grants from these organizations and bilateral projects of intergovernmental programs obtained on a competitive basis.
In accordance with the Association Agreement with the EU, ties are expanding with scientific centers of EU countries and organizations of the European Commission, in particular in the areas of participation in the EU framework programs for research and innovation, EURATOM, the European Open Science Cloud, ongoing interaction with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC), the European Regional Centre of the global Earth observation network EuroGEO, and the European Enterprise Network EEN.
Within the framework of exchange programs for scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, about 80 bilateral projects with academies of sciences of Central and Eastern European countries are carried out annually, with the exchange of scientists provided according to quotas stipulated by the relevant agreements.
