30.07.2024

The summer of 2024 brought abnormal heat to Ukraine. Since the beginning of July, 13 temperature records have been recorded in Kyiv. But the heat affected not only our country. In Europe, each of the last 13 months has also been marked by temperature records.

What causes such climate anomalies, whether they will recur in the future, and how extremely high temperatures affect people, the environment, and various sectors of the country's economy were discussed in an interview for the program "About Science. Competently" (hosted by academician Volodymyr Seminozhenko) for the YouTube channel of the NAS of Ukraine by climate scientist, leading researcher at the S.I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, member of the Scientific Coordination Council of the NAS of Ukraine on Climate Change Issues, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Svitlana Boychenko.
