The modern world is unimaginable without biotechnology. It has become an important part of people's lives, helping to solve global problems in medicine, ecology, energy, and, of course, agriculture. It is in this field that biotechnology opens up many new opportunities to increase soil fertility by creating ecological alternatives to chemical fertilizers.
About the impact of chemicals on soils and the health of people who consume agricultural products grown on them, research by scientists of the Academy aimed at soil protection, preservation of yield, and most importantly, its quality, was discussed in an interview on the program "About Science. Competently" (host – academician of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Seminozhenko), which is broadcast on the YouTube channel of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, by the head of the Department of General and Soil Microbiology of the D.K. Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Biological Sciences Lyudmyla Bilyavska.
